Ivanka Wants Nothing to Do With Her Father’s Campaign — But She’ll Gladly Take His PAC Money

Ivanka Trump has made it very clear that she’s washed her hands of politics, which over time became a headache for her and her husband Jared Kushner. She no longer wanted to deal with her father Donald Trump’s business or political operations. She’d worked in the Trump Organization and then served in dear old Dad’s White House all of her adult life. but when his term drew to a close, she was done, baby, done. When her father announced his 2024 campaign in November 2022, Ivanka was nowhere to be seen but she did, however, post a statement online declaring, “I do not plan to be involved in politics. While I will always love and support my father, going forward I will do so outside the political arena.

I am no fan of Ivanka Trump. She’s as grifty as anyone else in the Trump family, but I can’t blame her here. Trump threw his eldest daughter under the bus at the end of his term, turning on her after she supported then-Attorney General Bill Barr’s claim that he ddn’t find any instances of election interference during the 2020 election. In a fiery Truth Social post, the former president lambasted his daughter and Bill Barr at the same time.

“Ivanka Trump was not involved in looking at, or studying Election results,” Trump thundered in a Truth Social post. “She had long since checked out and was, in my opinion, only trying to be respectful to Bill Barr and his position as Attorney General (he sucked!).”

So if she’s no longer interested in politics, it’s understandable. She is still interested, however, in his super-PAC, at least when it comes to letting it pay her legal bills, New York Magazine’s Intelligencer reports.

Business Insider decided to take a look at Federal Election Commission records and discovered that Donald Trump’s Save America PAC spent a hefty $2.3 million for a pair of law firms that represented Ivanka and Ivanka only:

“In 2023, Save America disbursed a total of $1,303,667.11 to the law firm Troutman Pepper Hamilton Sanders and $1,042,479 to the firm Kellogg, Hansen, Todd, Figel, & Frederick,” per Business Insider.

“Both firms represented Ivanka Trump in New York Attorney General Letitia James’ sprawling lawsuit against the Trump Organization, Donald Trump, his three eldest children, and several executives over its finances. The attorney general’s office alleged that the firm misrepresented its finances to obtain favorable tax, bank-loan, and insurance rates.”

But that’s not all. The PAC poured an additional $5.3 million into a law firm that represented Ivanka, dear old Dad, brothers Don Jr. and Eric, and the Trump Organization. None of the lawsuits that incurred these fees are related to Trump’s 2024 campaign (unless you believe Trump’s blarney about his being the victim of a political “witch hunt” which seems to be his favorite phrase).

You probably already know what the fun part is here: Ivanka likely didn’t need PAC donor money to cover her $2.3 million legal bills, since she and Jared have an estimated net worth of over $1 billion. Which, you know, seems a tad hypocritical of her to take money from Dad’s PAC after making a big deal out of not wanting to have anything to do with politics.

Perhaps Intelligencer’s Margaret Hartmann put it best when she wrote:

“But in her defense, even obscenely wealthy people like free stuff. They essentially drove a dump truck full of money up to her house. She’s not made of stone!”

Well, true. And this is what wealthy grifters do. They keep grifting. That’s one of the main reasons why the Kushners are wealthy. They have learned from their parents and grifting is what they do best.
