Psychologists Think Melania Trump Is About to Hit a Very Challenging Time in Her Life

Barron Trump finally reached that much-mentioned 18th birthday on March 20, and soon he’ll be off to college and his parents Donald and Melania may feel empty nest syndrome. Of a sort. He’ll be on his own and have some adventures in his new life as an adult member of the Trump family and may move out quite soon. And if the young man decides to leave home, psychologists believe Melania may be in for a tough time, according to SheKnows.

Neuropsychologist and director of Comprehend the Mind, Dr. Sanam Hafeez spoke to entertainment journalist Nicki Swift on how Barron turning 18 could be heartbreaking for the former First Lady in several ways.

“Barron leaving home is more than just a son going away. It is a son becoming possibly subject to ridicule or harm, as well as [Melania’s] loneliness and lack of emotional support that she may have derived from [him],” Hafeez said.

He told the outlet that seeing a child leaving home can be difficult for parents. Somehow I don’t think dear old Dad feels that same way. Donald Trump cares about Melania, but let’s face it, he’s never been much of a father to young Barron. It’s an entirely different story with his mom and Hafeez notes “In the healthiest of parent-child relationships, turning 18, growing into a young man, and leaving home, is a huge deal for most mothers.

“Melania,” he noted may have even leaned on Barron in tumultuous times or busied herself with his life.”

MSN notes Barron has always been front and center in Melania’s mind, and it’s likely hard for her to come to terms with the concept of him leaving the family home.

“Melania’s main job is taking care of Barron, and I think it’s possible that she will follow him wherever he goes to school. Barron is shy and reserved, and she has been a good mother to him all of these years,” the close source said.

During her first Mother’s Day (Barron was born in 2006 after she and Donald Trump were married in 2005), Melania did a rare interview with the Palm Beach Post about how happy she was to become a mother.

“The love. It’s unconditional love. [Being a new mother is] wonderful. Every mother knows this. It’s a miracle almost, I could say, that two people can create. It’s very, very special,” she said. “You can watch the baby, every move he makes. It’s just amazing. A great, great experience. I was very lucky. I had a beautiful pregnancy. Everyone is healthy and happy.”

One thing we can say for sure: Unconditional love is something that Donald Trump knows nothing about. Unless we’re talking about his love for himself.
