Susan Collins is Oh, So Very Sad That Brett Kavanaugh and Neil Gorsuch Lied to Her

Ugh, this woman. This awful, lying woman.

Maine Sen. Susan Collins agrees with West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin: They’ve been duped. But come on, we all knew they were going to be duped. They needed and wanted an excuse to vote for Trump’s awful justices, and Kavanaugh and Gorsuch said what they needed to hear.

In a statement Friday following the explosive decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, Collins denounced what she called a “sudden and radical jolt” to the country. Collins, who voted yes on nominations for Justices Brett Kavanaugh and Neil Gorsuch wrote that the pair had backtracked on what they said during their confirmation hearings and during closed-door meetings with Collins.

“This decision is inconsistent with what Justices Gorsuch and Kavanaugh said in their testimony and their meetings with me, where they both were insistent on the importance of supporting long-standing precedents that the country has relied upon,” she said. Uh huh.

“Throwing out a precedent overnight that the country has relied upon for half a century is not conservative,” Collins wrote.

Manchin similarly said Friday that the justices had been dishonest when discussing the stance on Roe in the Supreme Court nomination process, and released a similar statement:

Of course both Collins and Manchin knew that Kavanaugh and Gorsuch would overturn Roe if given the chance. Everyone knew.

Twitter was rightfully disgusted and furious:
