Eric Trump Says Bloomberg Can’t Win Because Mike Doesn’t Have Trump’s Charisma

Eric Trump, noted for his social graces and cerebral-nature, ventured onto the Fox News podcast “The Rundown” to offer his expert insight into why his father shouldn’t fear any challenge coming from Michael Bloomberg. Our readers here are left to wonder why Eric Trump even believed it necessary to address Bloomberg if Mike poses no threat to Donald Trump, but then again, no one can explain how Eric’s mind works.

Eric knows “people,” and specifically, Eric knows what it takes to be president. He also knows that Mike Bloomberg doesn’t have what it takes to be president. Eric thinks that “charisma” is the key:

“All the people who have done well in presidential elections over the years. Look at Clinton… has a certain charisma, had a strong personality that people were drawn to. Barack Obama has a certain grace and personality that people are drawn to. Ronald Reagan has a personality and kind of charisma brand that people… are drawn to, were drawn to, still are drawn to,” Trump told host Dave Anthony. “My father clearly had the same thing.”

Right. Clearly.

Clearly Trump has a certain “charisma brand” to which certain people are drawn, no doubt. Certain people are drawn to the type of charisma that leads a person to call Mexicans “rapists,” the type of charisma that leads one to say that he’ll jail his political opponent, or build walls to keep others out. It is true, Eric’s father had a “brand” of charisma – call it “racist charisma” that did connect with a certain type of people that seek out that “racist charisma” brand.

But Eric doesn’t understand that there is another type of charisma. The “I can beat Donald Trump because I am smarter, richer, more competent, and fcking normal” charisma, upon which someone could build a pretty damned good brand right now.

I suspect Eric knows this to be the case. After all, he wasn’t sitting on the podcast explaining why Andrew Yang didn’t have the charisma to be president. He knows Bloomberg can win, and that is why Eric – in all his wisdom – came forth to tell others why Mike could not.

Nice try, kid.
