Eric Trump Says He’s ‘Part of the LGTBQ Community’ and People Have Serious Questions

Obviously, we start with a caveat. Perhaps the only thing Eric Trump ever truly earned in his life was the moniker “the dumb one.” We shouldn’t discount that. Eric and his sibs are just as lazy as their dad but Eric claiming that title took real work, friends. So one has to be a bit careful taking anything he says as meaning much of anything. People think that Melania struggles with the English language, she can sound like Updike compared to Eric, who can’t even spell LGTBQ.

Still, the question posed to Eric this morning wasn’t some probing request for his thoughts on quantitative easing in today’s economy. He was asked about a letter-article that Fox News obtained from a lesbian woman afraid to use her last name. It was basically a commercial – literally, an anonymous love letter to all things Trump read on the air to Eric. But the question to Eric was “is this a secret Trump voter?” (and thus you see why it was a commercial, how can an anonymous glowing letter be considered “news”?).

But Eric answered like Eric:

Okay, this is freakin’ ridiculous on several levels. First, obviously, we couldn’t give a flying fck about whether Eric is gay or not. But he certainly has carried himself around as a hetero man – being married to a woman and all, fathering children with that woman, hiring Icelandic “fun girls” for his bachelor party  – so that’s more than a little odd.

And he’s not gay, Eric just doesn’t speak well.

Second, even though some of us peg the hetero needle on the spectrum (we can’t help it, we’re just born that way), we have had near as many gay friends as straight because … because why the hell not? Plus, one’s gay friends always had the most beautiful women as friends. So some of us feel part of that community, too, even though it’s through support more than participation. But if he’s going to say he’s “part of that community” then WTF is the stuff about “we love the man?” That seems to take him out of the Trump family and put him squarely in what my friends called “family.”

Last, obviously, Eric – dumb as a duck – is just saying words with no meaning, talking about the incredible support from the LGTBQ community. If there are ten members from the LGTBQ community that support Trump, that doesn’t make their support “incredible,” just misplaced.
