Election 2020

Fox Business Host Maria Bartiromo Throws Tantrum and Says She’s Leaving Twitter Over ‘Censorship’

By now it’s probably no surprise that Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo is ensconced with the Trump camp, but now she’s taking that a step further by announcing she plans to leave Twitter and join Parler, a relatively new platform that’s currently the darling of the right-wing media, where Alex Jones, Laura Loomer, and a number of conservative politicians can be found.

Apparently, Bartiromo is offended over the social media giant’s censorship policies and she announced her departure Thursday, Newsweek reports.

“This is the same group who abused power in 2016. I will be leaving soon and going to Parler,” she noted on Twitter. “Please open an account on @parler right away.”

Bartiromo is out-of-sorts because the social media platform flagged several of her tweets because they were “misleading about an election or other civic processes.” That includes this tweet, which received a warning.

Wednesday evening, Bartiromo shared an article published by The Federalist that bore the silly headline “Yes, Democrats Are Trying To Steal The Election In Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania.”

Then another one of her tweets wound up being flagged by Twitter Thursday morning.

“4 am dump/Wisconsin 65,000 votes 100% for Biden 4 am dump/Michigan 138,499 votes 100% for Biden,” she wrote in the tweet. “AZ poll workers forcing voters to use sharpies thereby invalidated ballots. Trump leading in GA, NC, PA, WI, MI & they stop counting” before the vote fairy visits overnight.”

Parler CEO John Matze talked to Bartiromo Thursday and complained Twitter and Facebook offered biased “editorialization” during the 2020 election.

“Once you start content curation and you start fact-checking, you’re introducing bias and I don’t think that there’s any perfect group without bias, so in terms of being a platform for transparency and free speech, they’ve gone way too far,” Matze said on Bartiromo’s program, Morning With Maria. “And in this election, we need more transparency and it’s really important.”

Matze added that Parler lets users talk “and get things out and be transparent without fact-checkers, without editorial bullies trying to tell you what to think.”

Gee, sounds like a dream come true for QAnon conspiracy nutters. No fact-checkers? No wonder Alex Jones and Laura Loomer like this place.

Sounds like a natural place for soon-to-be-former President Donald Trump. Especially since Twitter has flagged several of his tweets since Election Day. He and Bartiromo can commiserate over his loss smack in the middle of right-wing heaven out of the sight and hearing of decent people.

That will be a relief.
