Trump Puts Out a Long Statement in Response to Report That No One Cares About His Statements Anymore

Donald Trump is busy bragging that his personal website received more than 36.7 million views over the past month, drawing more traffic compared to the same time period in 2020, Newsweek reports.

“This number would be even greater if we were still on Twitter and Facebook,” Trump said in an emailed statement to Newsweek, “but since Big Tech has illegally banned me, tens of millions of our supporters have stopped using these platforms because they’ve become ‘boring’ and nasty.”

If you didn’t know any better you’d think Trump was describing himself.

Facebook and Twitter banned Trump in January for baselessly claiming nationwide voter fraud stole the election away from him. He was permanently banned from both platforms after his supporters mounted a siege at the Capitol building on Jan. 6 to overturn the results of the 2020 election.

Trump has long stated his intent to launch a social media platform, but in his statement Monday, he clarified that his personal blog, From The Desk of Donald J. Trump, is only “temporary,” Newsweek notes.

“This is meant to be a temporary way of getting my thoughts and ideas out to the public without the Fake News spin, but the website is not a ‘platform'” he wrote. “It is merely a way of communicating until I decide on what the future will be for the choice or establishment of a platform.”

Trump spokesperson and dirtbag extraordinaire Jason Miller said Trump has held “a lot of high-powered meetings” with a number of companies to discuss the new platform.

“This new platform is gonna be big and everyone wants him, he’s gonna bring millions and millions — tens of millions of people,” Miller said.

There is certainly an air of humor to this when you consider that social media analysts are saying that any new platform won’t have the cachet, audience-wise, or reach-wise that is currently enjoyed by Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, or any of the other networks that have banned Trump.

As you might expect Trump, has some outrageous things to say in his statement, insisting that he’s made few media appearances since leaving office so that “the American public could see just how big of a disaster the Biden administration has been.”

“Watch, it’s only going to get worse!” Trump wrote.

If you have any idea what he’s talking about, please clue me in. Because I have no idea.

Trump’s blog bears a few resemblances to his tweetstorms — he’s using it of course, to continue claiming the election was stolen. He’s also using it as a tool to browbeat those who have gone against him, like Wyoming Republican Representative “warmonger” Liz Cheney, and “gutless and clueless” Republican Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.

He’s also continually asserted that ‘boring’ Twitter has lost users since he was banned. That’s a solid NOPE. The platform has, in fact, gained more than 7 million new daily viewers since Trump’s removal.
