Trump v. McConnell War Back On, Strong: Trump Calls on McConnell to Resign, ‘Doesn’t Have a Clue!’

This, of course, is an off-and-on thing. Donald Trump cannot take any dynamic where he is not unquestionably the top dog, so much so that the guy was once actually quoted as saying that he values “Loyalty” above competence, intelligence, talent, work ethic… which is just a stunning admission. But the quote demonstrates just how badly Trump needs to be in charge.

Trump has the votes and the “loyalty” of near everyone in the House. Mitch McConnell controls the senate minority (one vote from a majority) with an iron fist, subject to one or two exceptions on rare occasions.

Thus, while Trump might seem to control the party, when it comes to the actual government? Right now, McConnell has far more control over the actual government and actual policy. McConnell also has a very good shot at being the majority leader again, so long as Trump stays the fck out of the way and stops endorsing the whackiest “loyal” types. McConnell wants candidates that are most likely to win, not the most likely to be loyal (which often goes hand in hand with insane, Gosar, Gaetz, Marj. Boebert, Cawthorn).

So the fight was bound to happen because Trump wants to line up a senate that will act as the fascist dictatorship that he imagines (if he runs again, or governs by proxy), McConnell wants a majority and – unlike Trump – understands that sometimes moderates will win, whereas psycho “loyalist above all else” lose, putting his majority in danger.

It was bound to happen and on Friday, Trump called on McConnell to resign. Friday’s comment either reflects the fact that McConnell voted for Biden’s infrastructure bill, isn’t doing enough to block this “Investigation” and possible trouble Trump might face, and not backing the right candidates… just kidding. It is all three and more.

Even though the war has been off and on, off and on, that doesn’t mean it cannot break for good. And every period in which it heats up, it makes that “forever break” more likely.
