Trump Looks at ‘Withdrawing’ His Endorsement of ‘Disappointing’ Mo Brooks for Alabama Senate
Mo Brooks showed up on January 6th and – according to earlier reports, was essentially handed a speech to read, with rage.
Earlier this year (see link), Brooks said that Trump personally asked him to speak at the rally with the promise that he would receive Trump’s endorsement for the Alabama primary for the Senate after Senator Richard Shelby steps down. Now Trump might pull his endorsement because… Brooks looks like a loser.
Kinda like Putin, Trump says that Mo Brooks has changed. Kinda like Putin, Mo Brooks is the same person he’s always been, which is why he might be losing the race for the Alabama primary. Principles and promises matter less to Trump than winning and it looks like Brooks might not win.
But according to Trump, from Mediaite:

Former President Donald Trump said he’s contemplating pulling his endorsement of Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL) in this year’s U.S. Senate race in Alabama.
“Mo Brooks is disappointing,” Trump told The Washington Examiner in a phone interview on Tuesday. “I’m determining right now, has Mo Brooks — has he changed?”
No, not really. He is still the crazed man who proudly delivered this speech on January 6th, one that won’t be forgotten. He is also the man who never got around to explaining why he was wearing body armour on January 6th, after all – he was speaking to the friendliest crowd he would ever find:

So, the only thing that has changed about Mo Brooks is his popularity and chances at winning the primary in Alabama. It doesn’t help that in August Mo wavered on the entire “Rigged” thing:
“There are some people who are despondent about the voter fraud and election theft in 2020,” he said. “Folks, put that behind you. Look forward. Look forward.”
But we suspect that Trump’s decision to pull his endorsement (we predict it will happen) is more likely linked to this:
In polling, Brooks trails his primary rivals Katie Britt, a former chief of staff to Sen. Richard Shelby (R-AL), and businessman Mike Durant.
Trump can’t have his endorsements coming in third. That would make the endorsee a loser and thus the endorser a loser. Trump doesn’t like being a loser. So, no – Donald, Mo Brooks is still Mo, that’s his problem. He hasn’t changed at all, only the circumstances. Kinda like Putin.
