GOP Hypocrisy

Marjorie Taylor Greene Faces Backlash for Saying Ketanji Brown Jackson is ‘So Ignorant She Doesn’t Even Know What a Woman Is’

Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene has landed herself in some hot water on Twitter that could boil over to affect her in real life after a heated attack on Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson and those supporting her confirmation to the Supreme Court, The Independent reports.

The Georgia Congresswoman, who’s as right-wing as they come, wired up by accusations raised by Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee that claim Jackson was too lenient in the sentencing of people convicted of having child sexual abuse images, took this a step further. Good ol’ Marge directly condemned Jackson’s supporters as “pro-pedophile,” and specifically named three influential GOP senators who say they plan to vote for Jackson’s confirmation.

During her appearance on the far-right network Real America’s Voice, Greene also mocked Jackson’s education. Even though Jackson is a Harvard graduate and spent nearly a decade on the bench. But for Greene, Jackson is “someone so ignorant she doesn’t know what a woman is.” All because the judge wisely refused to give a biological definition of a woman to GOP senators during her confirmation hearing, instead deferring by saying the question is for physicians and biologists to decide.

After calling Jackson “ignorant” on a clip that was shared on Twitter, Greene is facing heat.

“The irony of this person referring to anyone as ignorant priceless,” tweeted Mike Newhall.

Her reference to Sens. Mitt Romney, Lisa Murkowski, and Susan Collins as “pro-pedophiles” isn’t likely to earn her any fans among high-level Republicans, especially when you consider that Madison Cawthorn, her fellow far-right member of the House, is still dealing with blowback regarding his comments alleging that members invited him to an orgy with a side order of cocaine surfaced online.

And while Greene says in the video that she doesn’t care who is “melting down” over her comments, her disgusting and completely baseless remarks that three sitting senators support pedophilia may come back to bite her. All three senators have been known to transcend the GOP for some votes, and they are well-respected within their party. Let’s remember that House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy hauled Cawthorn in for a meeting and gave him a good brow-beating, denouncing him as a liar.

I have to also wonder — if Greene is so worried about pedophiles, what’s she doing hanging around Matt Gaetz, who is, after all, facing sex trafficking of a child?

Here’s the video of Greene’s interview below, accompanied by some Twitter thoughts.

And Twitter was brutal:
