Election 2020
Sean Hannity Told Trump to Pardon Hunter as a Peace Offering to Joe Biden — And the MAGAs are FURIOUS
Well, it seems Fox News’s Sean Hannity, the poster boy for right-wing misinformation, is in a bit of hot water with the MAGA media because he apparently suggested to Donald Trump the idea of issuing a presidential pardon to Hunter Biden as a way to heal the avalanche of political turmoil that occurred in the aftermath of the failed attempted siege of the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.
During Thursday night’s primetime congressional hearing, the House select committee investigating the riot showed text messages written on January 7, 2021, by Hannity and sent to then-White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany, The Daily Beast reports. At one point Hannity discussed the post-riot discussion he’d had with the outgoing president.
“He was intrigued by the pardon idea!! (Hunter) Hannity told McEnany. And, of course, as The Daily Beast reported last week, the “Hunter” he’d mentioned was President Joe Biden’s son Hunter (of course). He’s a frequent target of right-media, including Hannity.
Sources say Hannity suggested to Trump that he pardon the younger Biden as a salve to Democrats, a peace offering of sorts, after all the trauma caused by the Capitol attack.
This is kind of peculiar when you consider the fact that while Hunter Biden is currently under federal investigation for possible tax evasion and money laundering, he has, at least so far, denied any wrongdoing and has yet to be charged. Which of course, makes me wonder how you pardon someone who hasn’t been proven guilty?

Hannity has been Trump’s faithful lapdog from the get-go, wholeheartedly pushing Trump’s b.s. about election fraud in the months leading up to the failed riot, but previously released texts also show he was growing worried about Trump’s mental state as the certification day approached. Apparently, the Fox News host proposed the idea of pardoning Biden because he “genuinely wanted some healing” — and also pressed Trump to knock it off with the stolen election rhetoric.
That did not make the flying monkeys in MAGA world happy, and they reamed Hannity on social media for appearing to discard his principles.
One of the most rabid of the America First crew, Jack Posobiec, ardent racist, pizzagate conspiracy nutter, and peddler of alt-right disinformation got the ball rolling after reading The Daily Beast’s report, taking to Twitter to post “we now know that [Sean Hannity] told Trump to pardon Hunter Biden and stop talking about the 2020 election.”

Posobiec took another potshot at Hannity on Telegram, showing him partying with CNN’s Don Lemon, and added the caption “Are you paying attention yet?”
Others, like Darren Beattie, a former White House speechwriter, who wound up being terminated after it was discovered he attended a white nationalist conference, fired this salvo:

Conservative commentator John Cardillo also chimed right in:
I’ve been telling you guys that @seanhannity isn’t an ally. https://t.co/BgWLghKzHV

Other nutters were also more than happy to jump in, including Kathy Barnette, a former “Ultra-MAGA” GOP candidate and “Stop The Steal” fan, who posted this on Twitter:
Can we just all agree now that it is time to STOP taking advice from @SeanHannity? https://t.co/aKUaRgXwpy

Then there’s former Fox News contributor David Wohl, father of notorious internet fraudster Jacob Wohl, who asked “how the hell does Hannity still have a show?” and then called him “a POS,” in a tweet that has since been deleted.
It’s really pretty funny to see Hannity being roasted by his own people. It couldn’t happen to a nicer guy.
