2024 Election

Trump Is Now Threatening to Reveal Ron DeSantis’s Secrets if He Runs Against Him in 2024

Perhaps former President Donald Trump is feeling a bit insecure. At least when it comes to newly reelected Florida governor Ron DeSantis. Who is widely expected to throw his hat into the 2024 presidential election. As a result, Trump has amped up his attacks on him, tossing in the clever (for Trump) nickname “Ron DeSanctimonious” in the hopes of getting under his skin.

But now, as Uproxx reports, Trump is resorting to blackmail. Which is interesting because if you compare either of these two to lower-life forms — cockroaches, rat-tailed maggots, or tsetse fly larvae, you’d be insulting the aforementioned invertebrates. To say that Trump is blackmailing DeSantis is kind of like saying a black vulture is blackmailing a dead horse by feeding on it, and that’s an insult to black vultures, dead horses, and the invertebrates mentioned above because each of them benefits the planet in one way or another.

That is something that definitely can NOT be said by Trump or DeSantis who do absolutely nothing for the planet.

But I digress.

And since Trump is in a snit over DeSantis possibly running, he’s good at doing: continually trash-talking him and other political foes. But if anyone’s going to endanger Trump’s chances of wrecking the country even further, it’s DeSantis 2024.

“If he runs, he runs,” Trump told reporters, trying to seem clear-headed about it. For mere seconds. “If he did run, I will tell you things about him that won’t be very flattering. I know more about him than anybody other than perhaps his wife, who is really running his campaign.”<

This led Uproxx reporter Matt Prigge to wonder:

“What skeletons will Trump summon from the closet? Will they be worse than the recent NYT piece that made some unsavory claims about DeSantis’s brief stint as an arrogant high school teacher who partied with kids and argued with Black students about the motivations behind the civil war? Or is it all Trumpian bluster?”

Trump has spent months hinting he may run, even if he winds up in the slammer, but if there’s any good news about this, it’s that DeSantis is putting a serious hurt on his chances of winning.

So there’s that anyway.
