Ivanka Trump is Failing Miserably at Her Attempt to Rebrand Herself

In the nearly two years since her father left the White House, Ivanka has faced a mighty struggle as she tries to rebrand herself. And, folks, it doesn’t look like things are going well for her.

You’d think since she’s the author of two books — 2009’s The Trump Card: Playing To Win and Work In Life, followed by 2017’s Women Who Work: Rewriting the Rules for Success — that Ivanka would be quite capable of playing the rebranding game, Queerty reports.

Her latest attempt at image rebranding happened on Tuesday. Holding potatoes and green peppers, she posed for a photo op at a food bank in North Carolina. And of course, Ivanka, who has probably never been hungry in her entire life, handed out fresh produce to starving families while patting herself on the back.

“On this #GivingTuesday, I joined @RipeRevival to distribute their beautiful, locally sourced, fresh+nutritious produce to food insecure families (what a fancy way to say ‘poor’) in rural NC,” she posted on Twitter. “Organizations like this revive communities thru food & foster connectivity between America’s small farms & hungry families.”

Then she posted a photo of herself with an arm around a young girl.

“Met this sweet girl today,” she tweeted. “Join me in supporting families this holiday season through @RipeRevival.”

Okay, okay. It’s nice that Ivanka is promoting this project. But you know what’s NOT nice? The fact that miss Perky Pet worked as a top aide for a president (and let’s not forget, dear old dad) and his cronies who staged a failed insurrection in a deadly but half-a$$ed attempt to prevent the Electoral College from certifying the 2020 election. What’s also NOT nice? Ivanka is still embroiled in a $250 million business fraud lawsuit in New York. So maybe all this “giving back” is also an attempt to slather bright gold frosting on a turd.

If Ivanka was so caring about starving families why isn’t she donating some of that $640 million she earned while working in the White House, not to mention that $2 billion that her hubby, Jared Kushner took home from the Saudis after leaving the White House.

That would make a meaningful impact on the lives of these families.

But no, she’s not doing that. She and the fam are taking fancy trips around the world.

A mere two days prior to her North Carolina photo op, Ivanka was hobnobbing with antisemites and homophobes in Qatar while hanging out in the VIP section during the World Cup apparently unbothered about the human rights abuses committed by the country’s leaders. Just a few days before that she was riding a fancifully decorated camel with Egypt’s famed pyramids in the background.

Of course, Ivanka Trump is not alone in this pseudo-kindness. Billionaires the world over spend huge sums on something that often adds little to better the lives of the poor or to help a planet struggling under a major climate crisis. Elon Musk plows $44 billion into Twitter where the very worst right-wing extremism is now proliferating. Meanwhile, Facebook under Mark Zuckerberg’s helm continues to disseminate climate disinformation. With a net worth of $43 billion, you’d think Zuckerberg could use this money to tighten protocols at the social media giant. And as Popular Science notes, billionaires have a far larger carbon footprint than the rest of this.

Billionaires are parasites by and large. Rarely do they ever pay their fair share and it’s time to get them off the backs of the poor and the planet.
