Ivanka Trump Just Got Some Bad News Regarding the NY State Fraud Charges Against Her Dad

Now that's she's not a defendant, they found a different way to get her on the stand.

After Donald Trump and his sons Don Jr. and Eric (among others) were found liable for fraud in NYAG Letitia James’ lawsuit this week, many were surprised that more of the former President’s family weren’t in the same boat. His daughter Ivanka has also been heavily involved in Trump Organization dealings, or so we thought.

But the prosecution has another way to get the former First Daughter on the stand: As a witness.

Ivanka had worked as an executive vice president for her father’s business prior to joining the White House as an advisor. Now AG James has included her on a witness list just submitted to the New York County Superior Court.

Ivanka had been a defendant in the case, based on her involvement in the Trump Organization. But she had the charges specifically against her thrown out on a technicality after essentially turning on her brothers. After dumping the lawyers she shared with her brothers initially, she hired her own.

He argued that the case “does not contain a single allegation that Ms. Trump directly or indirectly created, prepared, reviewed, or certified any of her father’s financial statements,” and that “other individuals” were responsible for the tasks under investigation. The other people were Eric and Junior.

When Ivanka testified before the January 6 Committee last year, the members found that she had not been “forthcoming” in her testimony about the events in the days leading up to the insurrection. The committee also noted that she had “a lack of full recollection of certain issues.”

In other words, she basically pleaded the Fifth constantly, even on things that other people seemed to remember pretty well.

The trial for the remainder of the charges in this lawsuit is scheduled to begin next week, and could wind up lasting well through the holidays.

Trump is looking at a $250 million fine and could lose all of his properties in New York, including what he has left of Trump Tower. If he does lose the Tower, one has to wonder where Melania and Barron will live.

Ivanka, on the other hand, will likely live in luxury on the Saudi money her husband Jared grifted while her dad was in the White House.
