You might think that a wife who knows of a trial that involves her husband paying off an adult film star to stay quiet about a one-night stand would make said wife quite angry with the defendant. But you would be wrong if you were talking about Melania Trump who is mad at everyone but her husband.

According to The New York Times, Melania was furious at Trump upon hearing of the affair – which is not what her former friend Stephanie Winston-Wolkoff recalls. But Melania was apparently mad enough that she jetted off to Palm Beach and only went to the inauguration in a separate car, which has to be another presidential first.

But Melania IS a Trump and her anger has subsided to the point that the most Melania can muster about Trump is that the trial is “his problem.”

Well said.

But that’s apparently not what she really thinks. The Times reports that Melania is more angry at “us” – the American people who expect people to answer for alleged crimes. This is clearly interrupting her happiness!!

In private, she has called the proceedings “a disgrace” tantamount to election interference, according to a person with direct knowledge of her comments who could not speak publicly out of fear of jeopardizing a personal relationship with the Trumps.

Hmmm, jeopardizing a relationship? Has anyone seen Ivanka lately?

Moving on, the article explains that Melania’s response to the trial might actually play a highly important role in the campaign:

All of this could put Mr. Trump on shaky ground with his wife, who has defended him in some critical moments — including when he bragged on tape about grabbing women by their genitals — and withheld her public support in others, like when she did not appear alongside him as he locked up victories on Super Tuesday.

Yes, MAGAs. If Melania can’t love him, can you?

It’s not an idol question. Part of Trump’s entire persona to his voters is that he “appears” to them as invincible. But invincible men have adoring wives that share triumphs and tragedies. If she’s too angry to hit the trail much with him? Well, that will be interesting.

Fingers crossed. We know that Jill Biden will stand by her man. Of course, it helps to not have one nighters with adult film stars and it’s kind of hard to see Joe ever being in that situation.
