Trump Wants Everyone to Believe That Melania Really, Really Loves Him — But No One is Buying It

You're not fooling anyone.

From the earliest days of Donald Trump’s presidency, since his wife Melania became essentially a permanent public fixture, we’ve seen her grimace, shy away, and even swat his hand when he tried to hold hers.

All of that points to a troubled marriage, but mostly just kind of says she doesn’t like him all that much.

But Trump’s recent fundraiser, that apparently raised a boatload of money because it was attended by billionaires who want him to lower their taxes, was one of the first events Melania has even deigned to attend in ages.

At another fundraiser a few days earlier, Melania didn’t even come downstairs at Mar-a-Lago when Donnie was on hand to accept an award on her behalf.

During the big $50M fundraiser, as well as outside, Melania’s demeanor was noticeably sour. She certainly didn’t look like a woman either proud or glad to be by her husband’s side.

“Melania, who hasn’t been seen in public for months, doesn’t look very happy for someone who is gearing up to be First Lady again–a job we know she absolutely adored,” wrote journalist Victoria Brownworth on X, sarcastically.

“Melania looks like she’s in a hostage video tonight. Blink twice if you need help,” wrote Ron Filipkowski, attorney and editor-in-chief of MeidasTouch.com.

In response to the online criticism, Trump posted a video to his TruthSocial account depicting their relationship as perfect.

Or so he thought.

Even in the very best clips his media people could find, her smile is clearly forced and she is very obviously not interested in the things she’s doing or saying.

Oh, he praises her in the video, calling her an “amazing mother” and “incredible woman.”

But I don’t think Trump is fooling anyone. Melania herself made it pretty clear early on that she didn’t like being First Lady (or maybe even his wife) through her choice to continue to live in New York with their son Barron while he was off in Washington, DC and Florida.

And let’s face it: No matter what you think of Melania, from her ridiculous “Be Best” campaign that basically told kids to behave themselves to her incredibly ridiculous “I Don’t Really Care Do U” jacket, we can’t really blame her.

I can’t imagine being within 100 feet of Donald Trump.

Of course no one on X/Twitter was buying it:
