Looks Like Ivanka Kushner Has Had It — She’s Done Dealing With All Her Online Haters

Ivanka Trump (or is it Ivanka Kushner now) has finally had it with all the snarky comments that pop up when she posts on social media. Any time she posted on Twitter, the sarcasm flew.

So now, the former First Daughter has finally turned off the comments on her Twitter page. She did this over the weekend, Queerty reports, right after she’d shared a Father’s Day message to her dad, Donald Trump, five days after he was arraigned in Miami on 37 federal counts stemming from his alleged mishandling of classified documents, obstruction of justice, and lying to government officials.

Well, you know what they say — it’s good to have skills.

She’s now changed her settings so that only those people she mentions can respond to any of her tweets. So of course this means her Father’s Day tweets have no responses.

Bummer.

Perhaps Ivanka wasn’t fond of being continually reminded by those of us who don’t have fathers who haven’t been arraigned twice in as many months on enough charges to sink a battleship. We can also assume that being constantly reminded that Dad is an alleged sexual predator and that she and her husband Jared Kushner played significant roles in his administration, surely one of the most corrupt in U.S. history, torpedoed her brand.

If she even has one anymore.

After leaving the White House in the wake of the failed insurrection incited by dear old Dad, Ivanka has been trying to reestablish her reputation, with little success. Her bargain fashion line died in 2018 and her old social circle in New York wants nothing to do with her. The same goes for Washington, D.C. and she’s fled to Florida, where she’s perhaps putting all her frustrations into renovating a $32 million beachfront property.

Rumors abounded that she was thinking of returning to reality TV, perhaps beginning with an appearance on Dancing With the Stars, but that went nowhere.

And sure, all of this may be depressing for her, but she and Kushner aren’t in any financial pain. The couple reportedly earned $640 million during their time in the White House and after leaving D.C. Jared brought home $2 billion from the Saudi crown prince, a buddy of his during the Trump administration.

So money is the least of Ivanka’s problems.

And dear old Dad is saying he doesn’t want to traumatize his family any further.

That’s what he said in a Fox News interview, telling Bret Baier that Ivanka and Jared will not have roles in his administration if he’s elected again in 2024. He noted the first time around was “too painful for the family.”

“I said, that’s enough for the family. You know why? It’s too painful for the family,” said the U.S.’s only twice-impeached, twice-indicted ex-president. “My family’s been through hell.”

“Nobody has been through what my family has been through. Ivanka had a really successful line of clothing, I mean, making a fortune,” Trump continued. “When I did this, she was really — she closed it up. She sort of felt she had to, but she closed it up.”

Last November, Ivanka stated she intended to sit out her father’s latest bid for the presidency so that she could focus on her children.

“I love my father very much. This time around, I am choosing to prioritize my young children and the private life we are creating as a family,” she said. “I do not plan to be involved in politics.”

Wish I could say the same for her father. It’s widely believed that he’ll capture the GOP nomination for president in 2024, according to a recent Quinnipiac/Fox News poll. That poll found he’s trailing behind President Joe Biden.

But a lot can happen in a year’s time so it’s hard to know if things will be the same next year at this time.

I’m not feeling optimistic here. I keep hoping the Democrats will find a more dynamic, younger candidate than Biden but they are dragging their heels. Biden’s age is a huge factor here, and Trump’s age should be as well.

Are we heading for the most geriatric presidency in U.S. history?
